The word eczema originates from the Greek word "Ekzein", and means  ‘to boil over’ or ‘to break out’.

Eczema is a chronic disorder characterized by inflammation and itching of the skin and is often seen as dry, red, and scaly patches on the surface of the skin that may sometimes develop into blisters also. There are many treatments for eczema, ranging from topical creams that are applied to the affected area of skin, to oral medications such as corticosteroids.

There are manifold causes of eczema that can be very difficult to determine or to rule out. Some possible factors may include allergies, things we touch or come into contact with, the environment (too much humidity or the lack of) or antibiotics that kill off healthy bacteria on our skin that are necessary to keep the balance.  Another big factor that may predispose certain people to the condition is genetics. You might be at higher risk of developing eczema if someone in your family has suffered from it. Apart from that, certain lifestyle choices such as smoking, eating junk food, and psychological factors like stress, anxiety or depression, or underlying medical conditions that require medications like aspirin or ibuprofen may be a contributor to the development of eczema.

Eczema affects many people

Eczema is a skin disorder that affects approximately 10% of the world’s population, accounting for roughly 780 million people. That is a huge number of people! The condition of eczema is a chronic, genetic and inflammatory skin condition. It is estimated that about 20% of children who are younger than 18 years old will develop eczema at some stage in their lifetime. The prevalence in adults has not been studied very much but it has been estimated that about 5% of adults will also be diagnosed with eczema at a certain stage of their adult life.

A common condition for children

Eczema is most common in babies and young children. It causes patches of skin to become itchy, flaky, red, and dry. Doctors have warned of the urgency to get treatment for this condition as soon as it is detected the first time to avoid the possibility of aggravating factors that may in turn lead to more serious complications.

There are many types of eczema including:

  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Contact dermatitis
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Nummular eczema
  • Dyshidrotic eczema
  • Stasis dermatitis

The atopic dermatitis type of eczema often starts in infants while their immune system is still developing. This type of eczema often begins with building dry and rough patches on the cheeks or on the scalp that progress to redness and blistering of the skin. There are many treatment options available for these types of eczemas including topical treatments like corticosteroids, moisturizers and medications such as antibiotics.

What type of people are most affected by eczema?

Eczema is most often found in people with sensitive skin and those who have allergies or asthma. Basically in people who have a compromised immune system already and are prone to skin conditions.  To stop this, allergens like pet dander, mould, and pollen can be triggers for eczema flare-ups equally.

We all know that eczema can be a pretty big pain in the butt. It is not something that is hidden away, but it is often very visible, especially if the face and the arms or the back of the hands of a person are affected. It is a sneaky condition that many times makes the person feel very uncomfortable and unattractive and takes away a big part, if not all of their self-esteem and confidence.

Types eczema

Two main types of eczema are typically found in adults: atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis happens when an individual develops eczema due to a genetic predisposition for this condition.

Contact dermatitis occurs when an individual's skin becomes inflamed because of contact with a particular substance, such as soap or detergent or a chemical.

Organic cream is a topical treatment for eczema that claims to reduce symptoms such as itchiness and irritation. Such creams work by being applied and rubbed into the affected area and subsequently being absorbed deep down into the layers of the skin, restoring damaged cells.

Eczema is a skin condition that can be very uncomfortable and irritating to those who suffer from it. There are many different types of treatments and remedies that people use to help ease the symptoms and manage the condition. One of these treatments is a natural, organic eczema cream.

What is Organic Eczema Cream?

Organic Eczema Creams can be products for the scalp, the face, the hands and feet or any other areas where eczema might appear. These creams can be applied as needed to relieve the itchy sensation by keeping the skin moist at all times. Natural eczema cream works to soothe raw looking and irritated skin by locking in moisture to reduce itching.

Organic eczema cream contains powerful hand-selected natural ingredients that have traditionally been used for centuries to promote healing and to support the skin regain its natural balance on the way to recovery.  Eczema cream is a topical treatment that is applied externally directly onto the affected areas watching the active ingredients getting to work supporting the reduction of inflammation and itching.

Some people believe that eczema cream might help prevent the outbreak of symptoms altogether, however, this might not be the case. Eczema cream does not cure eczema, but it can treat existing symptoms and reduce suffering and discomfort.

How does it work

Hemp Seed Cannabinoids are found to be supportive in the relief of eczema damaged skin, due to their anti-itch, anti-pain, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. Essential fatty acids may be helpful to alleviate dry skin and irritations by locking in moisture, balancing oil production, and supporting natural skin cell repair.

Tamanu possesses a unique fatty acid (Callophyllic acid) that supports the regeneration of damaged tissue. Tamanu's plant compounds were found to have anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antifungal, and antioxidant properties that support the natural regenerative process of the skin, especially damaged skin.

Lavender includes linalyl acetate, linalool, and geraniol that are traditionally known to have antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. They can support the reproduction of skin cells and/or their natural recovery process. Researchers found that Lavender might be helpful to lessen redness and irritation of the skin.

Frankincense has rejuvenating properties and is supportive to naturally heal wounds and improve skin tone, hence ideal for helping to repair eczema-damaged skin. It is used in face serums to rejuvenate skin from the inside out and this makes it very beneficial to use for eczema damaged skin.

Bergamot houses polyphenols, flavonoids, linalool, and carvacrol that have many beneficial effects on skin repair when used with high-quality carrier oils and are applied to the problem areas of the skin.

German Chamomile is very helpful for allergy sufferers in bringing relief and soothing to the affected areas. Many times it has shown itself to gently ease skin conditions and improve itchiness. The active ingredient most researched in this oil is chamazulene, and it is much higher in German chamomile than in Roman chamomile.
